Anybody have any stories?

I hit a mule deer in Wyoming. It killed the deer but did no damage to my vehicle.

I hit a white tale deer in Kansas which severly damaged my truck. The deer jumped out of a ditch into my vehicle.

We don't have deer in Alaska, but Moose are a huge problem.

I was pretty surprised that Iowa isn't in the top ten worst states for hitting animals on the road.

D.J. is a much-loved 9-year-old South African Jack Russell Terrier owned by one of our founders. Since his arrival he has killed all of our outdoor cats, well over 100 raccoons, two coyotes, two skunks, dozens of possums, hundreds, (possibly thousands), of rabbits, squirrels, feral cats, moles, voles, shrews, mice, gophers, chipmunks, the odd bird and many, many snakes. A friend of ours picked up road kill for several months after meeting D.J., to permanently and rightfully honor this fine specimen of his breed. D.J.’s Trophy Board, comprised of all actual road kill…honors the world’s finest, best ever little dog

I hit a deer going 70mph in my 1995 Cougar. Body wise the car held up good. Unfortunately the airbags went off and I had to replace the dash. Sad thing the interior damage was higher then the exterior damage. Only $1,500 on the car and $3,500 on the interior damage.

I hit a huge owl with my 1979 Ford Fairmont. Rounded a curve doing some gravel busting back in the day and the thing never had a chance.

I ran over a raccoon family one morning driving to work. Got the mom and a baby - I was pretty sad about it.

I'm yet to hit any animals to my knowledge. A bird once flew into my windshield. Luckily, it didn't crack.

I was working for a Parks & Rec Department, and the guy I was working with had a huge riding mower. I think he accidentally ran over 2 baby rabbits. It was a little messy.

Hit a fricking skunk once and thought I'd missed until I got home, parked my truck in our ATTACHED garage, got out of the truck long enough to realized how it smelled and hurried up to back it out of the garage before one of the kids opened the door. Got it out but somebody opened the door to the house before the smell left.

Not a good situation in the least....

I hit a deer on my Harley. I was riding it home from the dealership brand new.

Had a friend who hit a black angus steer with a 70's Bonneville killed the cow and the car.

I was entering the Des Moines city limits and crested a hill only to find two cows and a calf crossing the road. I had to swerve to miss the calf and sideswiped a cow. I watched all three amble off seemingly ok but I did have a large dent in the side of my car.

Last fall driving home from work I was following a car and noticed a whole group of deer running towards the road. I backed off but the car in front of me apparently didn't see them. Took out 4 of them at a time. They went flying in all directions kinda like the Matrix movie when Neo is surrounded by all the agents....

I hit a deer in my mom's brand new car once, did about 1500 in damage. My favorite happened in my first car though. I had a little CRX and the front bumper had a springy plastic 'ground fx' attached. I was going about 70 on a back road and hit an armidillo. It curled up right before impact and shot off the front like it went out of a cannon, sliding on the asphalt, it was awesome!
