Love the sports chans esp during college football, nfl, and college hoops. I've had it for 5 yrs.

You know what I'll really love about the merger? No more "sirius is so much better than XM", "XM has so much better blah blah blah". God I get sick of hearing people feud about these two services which are pretty much the same thing if you want to listen to music. I've had both services at different times for the last 8 years and there is not that much difference between the two. It's like comparing HBO to Showtime.

Here is what it usually comes down to. If you currently have Sirius, you think it's better. If you have XM, you think it's better.

Sorry, there is my rant for the week.

I haven't heard much lately about the merger. Is there any new info on it, how will in effect current subscribers of both?

If you have XM, tell them you want to cancel because it's too expen$ive. They'll cut you a deal.

I'm not in my car enough to justify $14/mo, so I called to cancel. They said how about $10/mo for a year, all paid upfront. I said that wasn't good enough. They said, okay, how about 1/2 off paid upfront. Something like $77 lump payment, but irons out to less than $6.50/mo.

I shouldn't be advertising this, as I'm an XM shareholder and this will cut into margins

. But, like I told them, you can either get $6.50/mo out of me or get $0/mo - you choose.

GO MERGER!!!

I was able to get a free unit and car kit back in 2004 for the price of one year's subscription, so this deal is much better. Favorites are:

24: 90's alternative
100 and 101: Howard's channels
9: The Pulse-90's and today hits
23: Hair Nation
And then the sports channels and occasionally the comedy channels
