Re: Pay to speak to an American

I'm an American but I doubt that anyone would be willing to pay to talk to me.

Some of the companies my company supports, have outsourced their batch program support to India. After quite a bit of wasted time trying to understand them, we now communicate with them through email.

Re: Pay to speak to an American

The Dell rep I got in India on my last laptop explained a few things to me that I never expected:
1) Which button was the left mouse button.
2) Which button was the F2 key
3) What it means to double-click the left mouse button.

He really wasn't quite the help I was looking for

Re: Pay to speak to an American

I actually got some pretty good help from Dell support the last time my computer was acting goofy. When we were done fixing it, he went on to help me clear up a few things that were unnecessarily running in the background, and recommended a really good free antivirus. I pretty much had to break off the conversation because he kept looking for other things to do, and I was running out of time.

Re: Pay to speak to an American

I use the web support and BS my way to new parts when something fails. Its alot easier.

Harriet Michaels: Do you actually like haggis?
Charlie Mackenzie: No, I think it's repellent in every way. In fact, I think most Scottish cuisine is based on a dare.

Re: Pay to speak to an American

I've had good support with Dell as well. The next man from India was really good, and helped me get it sent in to have the power supply worked on.

The XPS support is really good

Care to share? I know there is a ton of crap running on mine. If I knew what half of it was I bet I could shut it off.
