I have to admit, I remember quite a few of them.

See what you think. Who are yours?

Re: Greatest Hair Metal Bands

this is my kind of thread. some of my faves:
Kiss is all-time #1. like the article said, not quite a hair band, but #1 in my book. others are:
-Whitesnake, Ratt, Poison, Warrant, Bullet Boys, Europe, Motley Crue, Cinderella, Firehouse, Trixter, Kix, Quiet Riot, Britny Fox, Dokken (new CD out May 13), Grim Reaper, L.A. Guns, Def Leppard, White Lion, Skid Row, I could go all night.

KISS just released another greatest hits type album last Tuesday. It's a 3 CD deal. $18 bucks at Walmart. Very similar to their other "greatest" albums, but as a fan, you should have it.

Pretty good list.

Poision, Skid Row, Scorpions, Cinderella would be my favorites.

Dokken...Winger...then it's a toss-up between Warrant, Cinderella and Slaughter. Leppard is not a hair band...neither is Queensryche. Awesome...but not hair bands.

What about bands like Helix, Kix, Krokus, Keel, etc. who preceded the "hair" bands?

Very surprised that Poison and Skid Row were not included.

Re: Greatest Hair Metal Bands

What about Metallica? They used to have a lot of hair. AC/DC should be in there too, but perhaps they're too pure heavy metal to be a "hair band".

Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Def Lepard, Aerosmith, Poison were always some of my favorite.

Re: Greatest Hair Metal Bands

Some Metallica fans would have destroyed things if they were dubbed as a glam band.

For me it has to be Poison. When I was in 8th grade "Every Rose Has It's Thorn" was the song of the year.

There are some cool songs on the album. I was shocked to see some Carnival of Souls on there, a very UNDERRATED album.

I am now in love with you. I hope you're female.
