Customized coffins
Some people are very particular about what they get buried in:
Bill Bramanti will love Pabst Blue Ribbon eternally, and he's got the custom-made beer-can casket to prove it.
He threw a party Saturday for friends and filled his silver coffin—designed in Pabst's colors of red, white and blue—with ice and his favorite brew.
Bramanti ordered the casket from Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home in Chicago Heights, and Scott Sign Co. of Chicago Heights designed the beer can.

Re: Cusomized coffins
The irony is that he can afford a casket this special, but cannot afford better beer. :)

I vote for a cigar box in the backyard, just like the one my hamster got, when I was a kid.

Re: Customized coffins
Just read about "green" coffins that are biodegradable. Not sure why, if you're so inclined, you wouldn't skip the box all together and just let them drop you in a hole. -
Re: Customized coffins
I saw this article and was disappointed... something like that you have to have a picture of!
Props for using it as a beer bucket until he kicks the bucket though... I'm sure he paid faaaaaaar too much money for it to be a one time use thing...

Isn't it illegal? If it isnt, I wish they would. I hate what it costs for a burial and funeral these days and I wouldnt want to burden my family. Wrap me in a hefty, say some kinda words, and throw me in.

Use the money for something fun or useful...

Why is it alot of women dont take this that way. My mom demands a nice casket. And my wife wants a nice one as well. Geez ladies, just because I toss you in a target bag doesnt mean I dont love you.

Re: Customized coffins
I want my to be cremated and have my ashes divided up and given to anyone who wants them. Those people can choose to keep them or scatter them at some place of significance in our relationship.
I hope someone has the sense to scatter some at Hilton Coliseum. (Outside of it, not inside)

On a side note I'd rather not have a funneral... they're depressing and boring.

It's to prevent the biohazard that is "you" from leeching into the soil and.... well, I'm sure there's "some" reason for it....
My very, very, very first job was mowing lawns and digging graves at the itty-bitty cemetary our church owned. I'm still pretty wicked with a spade....

Similarly, I also once had a summer position working at a cemetary. However, my job was in Spencer, Iowa and I don't recall digging any graves since we relied on machines.
