Send yourself (or atleast your name) to the moon!

NASA is sending a space craft to go scout out locations for moon bases, you can have your name loaded on a memory chip that will be sent along on this mission, and even print off a neat little certificate of participation

Send Your Name to the Moon

Oh we will fight, fight, fight for Iowa State, and may her colors ever fly!

Have fun in space Roger Sprague. You'll be back home in no time.

Harriet Michaels: Do you actually like haggis?
Charlie Mackenzie: No, I think it's repellent in every way. In fact, I think most Scottish cuisine is based on a dare.

It appears that they are bribing us for our support of the mission?

I couldn't find the pic I was really after, but this dude already tried to write his name on the moon. He was thwarted, but after he managed to inscribe the first three letters on the moon's surface.

My company is the launch vehicle contractor for the LRO mission. Its actually pretty cool, and one of the more interesting missions we've integrated.

I know there are some teachers on this board and thought that some of their students might think this is pretty neat... then I went back and looked at Tigershoops31's post and saw he teaches 6th graders... pretty sure they'd make fun of this more than you guys are

Oh well... heh heh for those wondering though - I got that link from a government technology and business news e-mail. Your tax dollars at work folks

The imagery we're going to get from LRO is going to be insane. I think it's a great idea to open up a chip for the names of anybody who wants.
