Re: Honda CRV
My only deal is spending the 5% or whatever it is on financing for the thing when GM and others are giving away free money everywhere.

Re: Honda CRV
I was also going to suggest having you look at the Rogue...I have the Murano and absolutely love it. Hummell's is great to deal with both on the service end and on the sales end. I can give you the name of our sales guy that we've delt with on all 3 vehicles we've bought from there. -

We either looked at the Mazda CX-7, Saturn Vue, Toyota RAV4, and the Nissan Rogue.
She hated the CX-7 interior
She hated the wheel on the back of the RAV4
She like the Vue
She liked the CRV a lot
She loved the Rogue
We bought the Rogue. It's a little bit more of a risk to buy a Nissan than a Honda but it was just a lot cooler vehicle for the price.
Some of the advantages I saw over the CRV. Some are not a big deal but they were to my wife.
Interior is more up to date.
Seats are better
Sportier
Built in Blue tooth
Keyless entry and ignition
Better radio (even though it's a Bose)
Xenon headlights
Better looking
Better MPG
Hummells willing to deal.
The only advantages I saw for the CRV.
Possible resale value but it doesn't mean as much when Honda isn't willing to deal.
Reliability. Every Honda we've ever owned has been bulletproof.
At first I didn't know whether I liked the CVT transmission but now that I'm used to it, it's pretty nice. The rogue is a little louder in town but it's the quietest small SUV on the interstate.
At least test drive one and if you're in Des Moines, go see Bart. He's awesome to work with. Well put. You may enjoy the service department at Hummels just as much as the sales folks. :) Originally Posted by Cy Heavy Our new Camry has those options and they are great. Now when I drive our other vehicle, it's quite odd not having them - especially the keyless ignition. IMO, there's a reason GM is doing that.
I've given the "domestic" manufactures more than enough opportunities to earn and maintain my business. Each time (with exception of my '89 Thunderbird) - I was let down. It'll take a lot for me to not only go away from Nissan products - but to go "domestic" as well.

Not too hip on the looks of the Rouge.

But the features are hard to pass up.
If it's between a CRV and a Rouge, I doubt you could go wrong. If it were between a Rouge and a domestic - that's a different story.

Re: Honda CRV
We recently traded in my Ram for a new-to-us Murano. We love it so far. Features up the wazoo, good gas mileage, especially compared to my truck lol. I do like the look of the new CRVs, but I just can't bring myself to buy new.

I guess the Rugue is a little more rounded -
Re: Honda CRV
dmclone - that's the <= 2006 CR-V. The 2007's were redesigned. Personally, I'm glad we got our '06 as I'm not as fond of the newer ones.

Looks wise, I think the Saturn Vue is the best looking in it's class.

Re: Honda CRV
I think the honda Element (I own one) is a lot better deal for the money.
Honda's in general are a bit overpriced right now, I think Ford is on the rise (Escape), the Nissan rogue seems like a better deal for the money.
But hey, I'm cheap.

My only thing is that Honda won't do anything as far as financing and the sticker is basically what you pay. Never had luck dealing with them because they really don't have to deal, I HATE that!
I got Holmes to haggle on an odyssey when you could not find them anywhere. Actually Ames had one, so I just started the bidding war, and told them I would pay cash for it whoever came in lower. They both were pretty agressive.
