PS3 recommendations
Ok, so MrsBrianHos let the cat out of the bag as has 3 things for me to choose from for my bday.
1 sony blu-ray player
-or-
1 standard 40G PS3
-or-
Costco PS3 bundle.
I am leaning towards the PS3, is it worth the extra $$ for the bundle? It comes with
Ratchet and Clank
1 extra controller
1 dvd remote
Spider man 3.
For $114 more than just a ps3 by itself.
I need expert opinions, I have to decide by tonight, cause I HAVE to open on and play GTA IV.

Re: PS3 recommendations
well GTA IV is the key.... who needs ratchet and clank.... get the ps3 with GTA IV and then buy a wireless controller, the cord on the regular one is to short imo

Re: PS3 recommendations
Aren't all ps3 controllers wireless?
Anyways, you'll want the new dual shock 3 controller, not the old six axis.

Re: PS3 recommendations
I would just get the 40 gig and buy an extra controller ($50) and DVD Remote ($20).

Re: PS3 recommendations
My GTA IV finally came from amazon today, so I get to finally play it tonight.

Re: PS3 recommendations
yea i would just get the standard and then buy whatever else you need using the ps3 controller isn't so bad for using as a dvd remote it just takes time to get used to it.

Re: PS3 recommendations
You might wanna go with just the 40G PS3. You would probably get another Sixaxis controller with the bundle. They finally came out with the DualShock 3(vibrating) controller. the sixaxis doesnt rumble like the PS2 dualshocks 2's.
So go get the 40G PS3, if you want another controller you can get a vibrating controller for i think $60. And get GTA IV and itll be about the same price. You dont get the movie, but how many times will you watch Spidey 3?
Jessica originally got me an extra controller when she bought the PS3, but i never opened it thankfully, I just took it back and got the dual shock 3. Sorry, logged in under the wrong name, too lazy to delete and rewrite as ripvdub. Just in case you didn't know... I'm a girl. -
Re: PS3 recommendations
Does the Costco bundle come with a PS3 with a bigger hard drive? As far as I know, the PS3 40 gb doesn't play PS2 games... but that may not matter much to you if you never had a PS2.

Re: PS3 recommendations
I'll agree on the standard PS3 package. Wireless remote is just fine for DVDs. Ratchet and Clank will be worthless when you have GTA IV. I also haven't seen the need for a second controller yet. Of course, I have no friends, so maybe your situation is different......

Re: PS3 recommendations
Ok, thanks for the info... I will open the standard one. I have no need for a second controller now, I really am getting this just for GTA.
