I agree with many on this post about older Ford Taurus models. Lat summer we sold our daughter's 93 for around $725. Bought it three years before for about $3500. There were some problems, some of which ended up being slight --like a $10 pipe replacement at Sinclair here in Ames when previous higher priced more complete pipe-joint replacements didn't solve the overheating problem. Still, the guy who bought our daughter's did so for his daughter, also a college student. Just be careful and take any potential buy to a mechanic you trust before buying. Reputable people won't mind.
