Re: Has anyone here had a hernia?

If it starts to hurt really bad, and you vomit....get help proto.
You should be worried about incarceration (when a portion of the intestine becomes entrapped in the hernia and its blood supply is cut-off). Generally this is more of a problem with smaller hernias. The large ones are unlikely to have this problem.

Been There, Done That, with the hernia thing.

Get it fixed, some hernias can kill you.

I have this exact same thing. The doctor told me some hernias can be ignored indefinitely, but I should not ignore this one and should get it fixed. His reasons were the pinched intestine thing that some have mentioned. I have put it off so far. I might have it fixed this summer when my wife is off.

Re: Has anyone here had a hernia?

My umbelical cord/belly button was herniated when I was born and it still is. Only painful once in awhile...not a hernia like from working out.
