Star Wars: Clone Wars trailer

Star Wars: The Clone Wars trailers and video clips on Yahoo! Movies

I have to say, this looks pretty awesome. I remain somewhat weary of anything George Lucas puts his name on anymore, but it looks like he deftly left this in the capable hands of other creators.

Now I just wish they'd stop focusing on the Clone Wars and show some action from after Return of the Jedi. I realize that entire era has been canonized with the novels, etc. that now exist, but it would be super sweet to watch new adventures of the original characters. Some KOTOR action would be sweet, too.

Wasn't this already an animated series? I could have sworn they were on TV last year.

Re: Star Wars: Clone Wars trailer

I loved the Clone Wars series on Cartoon Network. Best stuff that George has been involved in since Empire Strikes Back. I do love KOTOR, too.

When does this story take place in the series? Is it inbetween Episode II and III or III and IV?

In between II and III. At least that was what the Cartoon Network series was.

Re: Star Wars: Clone Wars trailer

I believe it takes place between II and III, before the deaths of Grievous, Dooku, Windu, etc.

There were two seasons of an animated Clone Wars show that aired on the Cartoon Network a few years ago. The first season was composed entirely of short (like 5 minutes apiece) episodes that each told a story about a different Jedi knight, also took place after Episode II. The second season included full 22-minute episodes that continued the same story.

This series is intended to show off more of the same time period. Not sure why they needed two series based on the same events, but I get the impression that George is obsessed with it. This looks pretty sharp so far, IMO.

There will also be a TV series based on the same CGI shown in this trailer, which will debut in the fall on Cartoon Network as well.

Re: Star Wars: Clone Wars trailer

I never got into the animated clone wars shows on CN. I watched some of them but they didn't have any plot - it was just a bunch of animated Jedi fights. I got really bored and couldn't bring myself to finish them.

I hope this new version is better.

Re: Star Wars: Clone Wars trailer

This does look pretty good but I am getting a little tired of the clone wars. George had his chance to show how awesome the clone wars would have been but blew it on a long and drawn out romance story.

On the other hand, George Lucas has been making plans to make a non cartoon tv show that would go into what happens when all the jedi go into hiding. That is what I am most excited about.
