Yes. And now I have a claim on my credit report from them. I'm not going to pay them out of principle.

The difference is my ancestors came here legally (don't say it was easier back then, leaving behind everything in the old country and crossing an ocean with nothing sure as heck aint easy) and earned their way.
I agree 1000000000000000000000000%. if they want to be here go through the legal procedures to be here and if they don't want to go through the procedures well then get their butts outta here.

If I cross over without my passports and/or other proper documentation and I am caught they would send me back here so why should we treat them special.

You are certainly free to negotiate your own health care costs. I know a few folks who do it. They carry catastrophic health insurance only, and pay cash for all the minor things. They ask for cash discounts and have found that many doctors are happy to give a cash discount because they can avoid dealing with insurance company red tape.

I do it with my vision care. My company's vision plan only covers the monster chains like Lens Crafters (which I hate), so I go to a local eye doctor and he gives me a discount for paying cash.

Does it have to be upfront? I tried doing it after I was charged because my insurance didn't cover the procedure but the hospital didn't budge. It's only a few hundred bucks but I don't want to pay it out of principal. Once again, sorry for hijacking this thread.

Illegals should all be deported, I just don't like the hate it seems they get from people. They are just trying to better their lives and they seem to be public enemy#1 when they are way worse criminals than them.

I pay at time of service, but you may be able to get other terms.

Really? wow, I guess I don't understand how they decide who receives what level of discount. Sorry for your trouble...

Yes, he did. I had an English Lit class that was set around the 1700s and it was stated then. Every generation thinks the one after them is lazy and stupid. And the world keeps going round.

True, but empires rise and fall as they get "lazy." The good news is there is always someone willing to work, but it isn't necessarily the current occupants of an empire.
