Being the oldest of 4 boys and then finding out my first was going to be a girl scared the $$$$ out of me.
A buddy of mine puts it best-
"When you have a boy you only worry about one dick in the town, when you have a girl you worry about all of them."

Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating.

I was the last chance to carry on our name. Having two boys was great. Now its on their shoulders. =)

Charlie Mackenzie: No, I think it's repellent in every way. In fact, I think most Scottish cuisine is based on a dare.

Wow, when I was 24 a girlfriend was a big enough commitment scare for me, Props to you, I certainly was nowhere near ready for kids...

When I think of the way my friends and I treated some of the girls in our lives back in the day, I have no doubt in my mind I will have nothing but girls... I earned it...

Confirmed by me.......I'll be sweating bullets in about 5 yrs

Question for the day: Can I still make season tickets work for FB and MBB if I move to Canada?

I've already made it a rule that the guy will go out for breakfast with me first before one of my girls goes on a date with them. And sometime during that date, I will be cleaning one of my guns.

At least I know that would have scared the crap out of me when I was a kid.

Yeah, my daughter is only 4 months old, but I have adopted the Rodney Atkins song "Cleaning this gun" as my theme song for now.-I will have acquired guydar by the time she is ready to leave the house.

The most important thing you can do is teach her how she should expect to be treated. Then she can take care of some things herself and you don't have to shoot as many people.

Here's something I found while surfing my favorite comic strip:

My wife and I are just starting to try for our first. I'm 29 and she's 27. The initial plan is for two boys and two girls - but those plans are ALWAYS subject to change...

Attempt #2
The ongoing story of the persistent attempts to get to the other side.

Re: Does spring time bring around the motherly instinct?

Did anyone else go through colic? Our first born was an easy baby, always cheerful and easy going. Hes been a terrrible 2-3 year old =) Our second was born with colic and was extremely difficult as a newborn. It was pretty hard because there wasnt a whole lot we could do. Late nights of holding and patting, sleeping holding the baby up. But he has been an extremely easy child ever since. Both of our kids have been opposites at the same ages.

It's not the shooting that bugs me. Digging the graves and getting the body out there is the tough part.....

It wasn't officially diagnosed as colic, but my first had many issues like you described.

It sounds like yours may have had acid reflux, if they only could sleep upright.

Re: Does spring time bring around the motherly instinct?

Anyone with a newborn or who is planning on having one soon MUST have this book. We used it for all three kids and not only did they sleep through the night (7pm-7am) @ 8, 6 & 11 weeks respectively, the days are structured with naps, etc.

If you do it remember 2 things. You must do exactly what it says and it's ok to let your kid cry.
