Re: What was Pancheros thinking?

Chipotle is by far the best. Seems to have the freshest ingredients all the time.

I loved Jimmy Johns in college, but since have found a way to hate it. It's really not that great of a sandwich. A lot of bread, a lot of lettuce, not much flavor. If you have to settle for a chain sandwich, go with a Potbellys!

Since it seems your the only one who's mentioned Qdoba, I'll chime in and say that I LOVED Qdoba back when I lived in Sioux Falls, but I give the nod to Flying Burrito. Maybe because I've never eaten Qdoba after a night at the bars...

I think Qdoba seasons their meat better than Chipotle so I like Qdoba better. But I sure do like having a Corona with my burrito and I can't do that at Qdoba.

All I know is that the Qboda here in Davenport is horrible. Panchero's is the best option here. However, I ate at a Qboda in Rockaway, NJ last week - it was very good.

Totally agree with all the posters that loved the "old version" of Pancheros on Welsh (right where Mickey is).

Best post bar food, hands down - no contest.

Imagine if the Flying burrito and God had a child. It would be that original Pancheros.

I'm actually shedding a tear while typing this. RIP "good" Pancheros.

The only Qdoba I've eaten was in CO. There is one in Clive near Valley West Mall but I haven't been there yet. I've eaten Chipotle all over the map and it always has tasted the same. I don't see why Qdoba would taste different regionally, but in CO, it was good, good stuff.

I had the Qdoba in Clive once, it was bad and I haven't been back since. Panchero's is good, but it's not even close to Chipolte

I like(d) Pancheros because all the ingredients were fresh. Chipolte not quite as much, but still good.

On the mixing thing, I suppose it makes a difference if you have sour cream, guacamole or nothing. With nothing, I'm not sure it matters if your rice, beans and meat are mixed. With sour cream, I suppose it is better than biting into a bunch of sour cream (except that shouldn't happen if they build it right). But with guacamole, which is the way I like it, the flavor gets lost if it's mixed. I want to be able to taste it.

If you want to blend, our business is at an end.

I've never had a problem with the Qdoba in Clive; it's the only one I've ate at.

McDonald's sold their stake in Chipotle in 2006.

That's true. After Steve Alford left EIU, the owner of Panchero's offered Rick Marjerus free tacos for life if he came to coach in IC. Guess that didn't work...

Just curious, but what makes Chipotle so much better? I've had all three and they taste pretty much the same to me.
