same thing I was thinking. Why would someone want to see a band who's lead singer is deceased? Would you also still see Nirvana assuming they were still touring?

What they should have done is changed the band name and re-emerged if they were all new.

Blind Melon was a great band, do they have a new front that sounds like Shannon? Be interesting to check out if i wouldn't have to drive 2 hours.

Re: Blind Melon tonight..

I saw Blind Melon open for the Rolling Stones in Jack Trice. They said that it was great to be in Des Moines.... the crowd did not like that.

Kind of like when Stevie Nicks performed in Hilton Coliseum and said it was great to be in Iowa City. Ugh...

Re: Blind Melon tonight..

how was the show? my friend saw them in omaha a month ago and said it was a great show, the new guy reminded him a lot of shannon, and that the new stuff was pretty good. I love blind melon, both the self-titled album and also soup. soup is a little darker, but very good listening.

it was an awesome show!!!! played a lot of songs from the self titled album, sprinkled in with a few new ones, and some off of soup...also played the cover of steppenwolfs "the pusher"!! and as far as sound, if u didnt know any better, u would have def. thought that was shannon on stage...travis warren did an amazing job!!! favorite part was when they played kind of an acoustic tribute, called it shannons song, and it was actually an acoustic version of change..incredibly sweet
