These stocks have been beaten down badly recently, and every one (Buffect, Greenspan etc) all say the worst time of subprime has passes. And if you look at their earnings this quarter , they still suffer big loses, but all improved from 4Q 2007
These scare me but you're right they are low. I wonder if the credit cards are next in line to get demolished?

Re: Stock recommendations

I agree with advice that it has to be something you like, and the disclaimer that recommendations don't always work out. That said...

I bought John Deere (DE) when I had an internship with them in 2001. Since then, the stock has split and is still worth 3x what I got in at. I think this is one to keep for the long term, they know how to adjust to coming markets and to keep inventory costs low. But if/when the ag sector takes a dive, it could drag them down also.

I lost my arse on Garmin (GRMN) buying in at a bad time, but it's really undervalued right now. GPS industry leader with no debt at all, and looking into getting into the smart phone/Blackberry business. I'm long on this also.
