Grilling Season: Favorite Recipes
I love a steak or hamburgers off a grill (I use to like brats & hot dogs but my cardiologist would prefer I don't eat those).
Do you have a favorite food to grill?
Do you have a favorite recipe when you grill?
I've never done a beer can chicken on a grill but I've heard it's good.

If you cannot eat regular brats, try these, they are really good: They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. - Benjamin Franklin 1775 -

beer can chicken is awesome - just takes a little longer and a little bit messier to eat, can't just pick it up like a brat or hamburger...well i guess you could but...
I like Omaha Steak burgers with Tastefully Simple merlot sauce...good stuff

Re: Grilling Season: Favorite Recipes
Loving our new Weber grill - it's been getting used a ton over the last 2 months.
So far it's seen burgers, brats, steaks, chicken breast and chicken grillers. The grill spoke to me and said it likes steak the best - namely ribeyes. I concurred.
We bought a Weber grilling cookbook last week, have been sifting through it...I believe the thing is over 100 pages! Tons of great ideas and recipes in there we're going to be trying soon.
Highly recommend this guy... http://www.realgrilling.com/buy.html -

Pork Ribs. Marinate them overnight in orange juice. The day of grilling, boil some brown sugar and honey (lil bit of water), slop it on the ribs. Let sit for about 10 minutes then put a pork rub on them, any kind will work (got mine at hy-vee) then smoke them in your grill using apple wood chips. And you have yourself a meal..they are tasty.

Re: Grilling Season: Favorite Recipes
our favorite add on to a meal from the grill is to use the grill basket.
slice up red, green and yellow peppers along 1 medium size red onion. Basically to kabob size or a bit smaller. In a large plastic bag or sealed bowl add veggies and 2 tbl spoons of olive oil (virgin not extra virgin). then add garlic salt and cracked pepper to taste. we like it heavy in the garlic salt and pepper.
spray basket with Pam after the pan is heated up. Add veggies and stir about every 5 minutes until all are veggies are soft and just turning black in a few areas. Should take about 20 minutes..... yummmmm..

Re: Grilling Season: Favorite Recipes
IMHO, nothing beets a perfectly done ribeye.
Let them sit out to get to room temp. brush lightly with Lite Olive Oil (Lite works best for cooking) season with Lawrey;s and Mrs Dash.
Let sit for another hour. Throw on VERY hot grill one side for 90 seconds, then flip, after another minute, turn heat down to Medium/low. 5 minutes there, flip again. 5 more minutes and you'll have a medium to medium well ribeye that you can cut with a fork. You won't need to eat it with anything either.
My favorite side with that meal is a baked potato on the grill. On the top shelf, I put the whole potato with no holes, brushed with olive oil and salted with garlic salt. Excellent. Grill for at least an hour.
All is simple, but very tasty.

Olive oil on steaks is a great way to make a good steak GREAT. many don't know to use it, but you can add a bit after your first searing flip. Originally Posted by wartknight IMHO, nothing beets a perfectly done ribeye.

Re: Grilling Season: Favorite Recipes
My favorite beef grilling recipe is for Grecian Ribeyes. A quick snapshot of ingredients.......olive oil, lemon juice, basil, oregano, garlic powder and when finished off the grill top with crumbled feta cheese. Absolutely fantastic, and to be enjoyed with your favorite beverage. I can provide specifics on ingredients if interested. Or you could probably do a quick search and find variations of the above recipe.
Gladly accept the gifts of the present hour.

Cavendar's Greek Seasoning is the best on chicken, potatoes and about anything else. A neighbor showed me and I have been going through it like crazy.
