Selling my Xbox 360

This spring we bought a PS3 for Blu-ray movies. I'm at the point where I can't justify having it just to watch movies while playing games on the xbox, especially since it is probably a better gaming console. So anyway, the ebay auction goes up this afternoon for the console, games, etc.

On the bright side, we're going to use the money to buy a Wii for the kids.

Re: Selling my Xbox 360

I've heard from co-workers you'll end up regretting that move. The reason is because the Wii is fun and novel for the first several months, but it just doesn't have the "intangibles" that the 360 has. There's a limit to what they can do with games and a limit TO games, playing online is a joke, and after awhile the gaming experience just doesn't compare to what the 360 offers. But hey, whatever you choose...

I agree, that's why it is for them. I'll still have the PS3 for daddy gaming...

I have a PS3 and Wii, we still play wii more often. I like playing mario kart with the kids, it is just so much fun when they get excited that they beat me.

Do you let them win?

I don't - but when they do it's meaningful for them.

What games do you have that are up for sale?

I don't know, I haven't thought that far ahead. We've got the console, standards and HD component cables, 2 controllers (1 wireless), 2 battery chargers (one plugs in and one charges while you play), two batteries and 8 (or so, can't remember) games.

Re: Selling my Xbox 360

I don't know... I would say I'm a casual gamer, and I really enjoy the Wii. Games like Mario Kart, Mario Galaxy and Virtual console games aren't too in depth and you can play for 30 minutes and get some enjoyment. I don't have the time to play a lot every week and the fact that my small children can also play is a big bonus.

I think that the online capabilities of the Wii will get better and better, and I also think you will start to see more games like on Xbox and PS3... granted the Wii can't do all those more powerful systems can, but I think it will get better.

I have to admit, after playing through Super Mario Galaxy, I started to regret getting a Wii. Zelda and Metroid just didn't really do it for me, even though I enjoyed those games on previous systems.

Then I got Mario Kart. What a game changer. I love playing that game online.

Deep within the heart of Iowa, a storm is brewing...
... the winds of change ripple throughout the vast fields of corn surrounding the small college town of Ames.

The Gene Chizik era of football continues, and, with it, a renewed attitude of pride, determination, and success.

This is Cyclone Football.

It definitely is.....it's a pretty simple game, but there's a lot of stuff to do, and unlocking the secret stuff and finding the secret areas is pretty cool. My little dude loves it, and a second player can drop in and drop out at any time, which makes it easier for me to play along.

Forgot to mention- two player can be frustrating as well, as you are locked together on one screen, so inevitably you are both going after stuff in opposite directions.
