The Register doesn't seem to be preaching to the choir

Anyone else find it hilarious that the Rag ceaselessly prints their politicized and slanted stories, only to have their angle ridiculed by nearly every comment attached to the story?

Is the Rag still in print? They became obsolete a long time ago.

ISU Student - Iowa fan. Best of both worlds.

Heck the Rag isn't worthy of buttwad in my book. Even if I am forced to fill up my vehicle with gas at Kum n Go and they offer me the free paper I refuse it...

Question for the day: Can I still make season tickets work for FB and MBB if I move to Canada?

The best thing about the Register is that no one throws it on my steps. Now if I could just convince the people that toss the Shoppers to detour around my house, I would really smile. The Register is responsible for destroying many innocent trees. Those trees would probably prefer to become high quality toilet tissue.

It is indeed a sad disgrace. Remember the Big Peach? Remember the great writing, and in-depth analysis? Where did it go? Gannett totally ruined that thing. It is absolutely worthless now. Name an issue, and it takes the liberal side of it. And before anybody chimes in that is balanced, Al Neuharth is as liberal as they come. That is a fact. The current editor made a complete fool of herself as the moderator at those so called "debates".

I get it for free on Sundays when I fill up simply for the ad fliers and to peruse the sports section. They must hate it that Hawk athletics outside of wrestling are completely irrelevant. Anyone else notice that when mentioning Eustachy they had to bring up that he was the highest paid employee, yet they never seem to do the same to Ferentz? Yep, no bias there.

I almost forgot, remember the man-crush Marc Hansen developed over Tinsley? How over the top his negative coverage of him became? Notice he gets to write about....what.....lawn sales and county fairs now? And Tinsley is making millions and living gangsta. Ah, the irony.

Re: The Register doesn't seem to be preaching to the choir

The best was right before the Caucus when they would do a daily comparison of politicians in their opinion section. They would put a democrat and a republican at the top, then do a list of issues and put a + a - or a 0 next to each issue under the candidates name to denote the politician's stance on the issue and its impact on us as citizens.

Every single issue got a + under Hillary's name, and pretty much every other democratic candidate got all +'s as well. Pretty much every republican candidate got a 0 or - next to every issue, with maybe a courtesy + thrown in occasionally just to try to not look TOO biased.

And it wasn't just that a - meant it was bad, they would have a comment of something like "expect 4 more years of the same as the current Bush Administration" or some garbage like that.

I wonder if the Register opinion columnists and political "experts" know that we all laugh at them......

I also miss the Big Peach. I am sad to hear the Register has gone down the tubes. I liked it when I lived in Iowa.

Very interesting.....here is the story that led me to make the post. It seems that all the comments have disappeared.

Hundreds search for solace at Postville prayer service | DesMoinesRegister.com | The Des Moines Register

You can have these Shopper magazines stopped. It always irritated me that you could stop your mail, but not the weekly advertising paper. I finally found out you can have delivery stopped. It seemed to take a couple of calls, but they did stop.

Then what would the Shopper News people do for a job? Advertising industryemploys a pile of people in this country.

EIU is the other Okoboji University for serious students and home of Captain Kirk who pilots the Enterprise on its Trek through the Universe for finding his next great job. Captain, beware of your Superbowl.
