Adventureland ride malfunctions, leaves riders upside down
I believed in Gene Chizik and all I got was this lousy limited-edition commemorative coin. -
Re: Adventureland ride malfunctions, leaves riders upside down
Not gonna lie, I would be a little freaked out, but not enough to not get back on it.

Re: Adventureland ride malfunctions, leaves riders upside down
I agree, it would be a little scary, but it wouldn't keep me off. However, I would want 2 lifetime passes or something, just for yucks. -
Re: Adventureland ride malfunctions, leaves riders upside down

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative. ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other." -

Mechanical malfunction my arse.........The ride operator was short cash and figured hanging upside down for 5-7 minutes would be plenty of time to drain the pockets of all the riders of coins and green bills and be enough to get enough gas in his car to get him home. He figured people would be to focused on the people stranded upside down to notice him sweeping up his stash on the ground below.........betcha 10 bucks

Is that the ride that has only one purpose - to see how many times they can roll you over with an occassionally working fountain in the middle ?
Didnt really care for that one because I shifted noticeably in that hard plastic seat everytime it tumbled me or when it hangs you upside down for awhile.

Re: Adventureland ride malfunctions, leaves riders upside down
Five to seven minutes of hanging upside down would really start to hurt the head. All the blood rushing to it would make that somewhat painful. If that happened to me, I would want something in return for my long wait upside down

I have been stuck on a roller coaster for an hour at the top of the hill but it was not upside down

Re: Adventureland ride malfunctions, leaves riders upside down
I have never been stuck for any significant period of time on any rides... but boy am I glad I missed out on that fun. There was one ride at Adventure World (Not land... this is in Maryland and is now 6 Flags America) called the Iron Eagle - it used to break down... a lot.
Never been on the ride at Adventure Land but it sounds like the Iron Eagle was similar... except a bit bigger.
The Seat platform rotates as the ride spins. Or it holds you upside down... (it is a GREAT money collector... especially when at the end of the ride the platform is "right side up" while you're at the top (aka you're upside down, 100' up)
When it was first installed it had a habit to break down... a lot. Usually upside down, occasionally when the platform was at the top.
I like rides... I never liked that one. Mostly because back when I rode it, I barely met the 48" height requirement, the Lap bar left a 2-3" gap between my lap and it (so my butt didn't touch the seat most of the ride...) and I was skinny enough that if I tried I probally could have slipped through the shoulder restraint with little trouble... and given it's history of breaking down it always made the end part of that ride all that much scarier as they slowly brought you around the top...
Oh we will fight, fight, fight for Iowa State, and may her colors ever fly!!! In Accordance with Prophecy -
Re: Adventureland ride malfunctions, leaves riders upside down
I've never been stuck in a ride, but when we were little my sister and I were forced to stay on a carnival ride that she did not want to stay on. I was probably 10, which would have made her 6. She started crying because she was scared and wanted off. I started yelling at the ride operator (a scuzzy little carnie kid who couldn't have been much older than 16, I thought) that we wanted off but he just kept the ride going. We were the only people on the ride and I knew he could hear us. He just took some sick pleasure in watching a little girl cry on a carnival ride.
That was the night I learned that carnivals are evil. -

Does anyone just see the irony in this being released a day before the Wesley stuff came out? And how this issue could easily be a perfect metaphor for the feelings of Cyclone fans as a result of yesterday?

People still go to Adventureland?
Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice? Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.
