Grimes/Des Moines - Cable TV?

I have a friend moving to Grimes from the Cedar Rapids area. He is beginning to investigate some possibilities when it comes to getting cable TV. Does the Des Moines area only have Mediacom as a cable outlet? Or do they have a competitor to Mediacom like Cedar Rapids does in ImOn Communications? He is also thinking about going the DirectTV route...any info/advice would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Depends on what they want. Are they huge HD fans? Do they like On Demand Movies? Dish and Cable both have pro's and con's

If they want HD then go with directv.

Just starting to get into HD...don't need the On Demand stuff...

Is Mediacom the only cable outlet?

Mediacom is the only cable provider I know. I've got it and it is terrible as far as customer service is concerned. I had to wait 2+ months to get an HD receiver and I only got it when I told them I was going to cancel my service, then one magically appreared.

I'm moving in June so I will be making the switch to Direct TV.

Just do Directv....trust me.
