It seems to me the only thing the government has is statutory rape. It went beyond it's bounds when they separated all kids from the mothers. They really need to have reasonable suspicion that individual(s) are causing danger and then move accordingly. It's reasonable to think that there were some that did not break the law. They acted too broadly.

The court was correct. If the abuse was prevalent and long-term, there is no real pressing need for the raid/seizure of kids.

The same thing happens at Cabrini Green in Chicago, every day of the week, with the exception that those folks aren't viewed as "freaks" by society.

Now, it's up to the government to do this correctly, and to actually do their jobs, law enforcement-wise.

By all rights, they should be able to fry some of these guys, but law enforcement can't take shortcuts.

My issue isn't with the scumbags/perverts. It's with the way the police obtained access to take the kids to begin with.

This is one of those "slippery slope" things.

Now, if they want someone to push the plunger on the syringe on these scumbags/perverts, I'm their huckleberry.

Personally, though, I'm a big fan of "the rule of law."

I very much agree. Law enforcement needs to do their due diligence, and justify removal of the children from their homes on a case by case basis. I think the downfall of their case is from removing all of them under one blanket theme.

We have to be really careful when giving the government abilities such as this, because the definition of what's unsafe is an interpretation of ethics which is subject to the interpreter.

With all that said, I hope that in this situation, they can find a way to justify it, because this certainly fits my definition of unsafe.
