Looks like it's heading right for the Ames area.

I'm a fan of rain and storms but WOW this might be interesting I was really set on golfing tommorow so things better get cleared up!

Oh holy hell that looks intimidating! I love storms, but good god, I want to have electricity too!

It's supposed to storm again tomorrow night. I like storms - as long as cars/people don't get destroyed.

I don't know how it can get more major when people have lost their lives tonight and this guy is hoping he can golf tomorrow.

Well, when there's a war going on, and countless people are being affected, I don't know how people can be worrying about a storm.

It all depends on how you view the situation because there is nearly always something more "major" going on. It may hit you more close to home, but it's all relative in the grand scheme of things.

I don't think that's what he meant. In fact, I think it's pretty insulting that somebody would take a comment about something as innocent as wanting to golf seriously.

Considering there are thousands of tragic deaths every day due to storms, war, etc...

My only comment was directed toward the guy wanting to golf. If you guys want to downplay the deaths go ahead, but people I know died today in this storm. Joke about it all you want.

Let's keep in mind that there are some serious injuries in his hometown today. This might be a good time to be a little more sensitive.

Nobody is downplaying this, and I am extremely sorry for your loss. I truly am. But I don't think that the golfing comment was intended to be hurtful or insensitive to those who have lost people in any of these storms.

I know who it was directed at, I just decided to respond to it with my own thoughts.

I am not, nor will, downplay death. I do however, believe that the poster you commented on had no intent to downplay death either. I do believe, that this loss of yours has allowed you to see insinuations that are not there. (Which was my original intent). Right or wrong in my own comments, I apologize if I came about it to you wrong. I merely meant that while having certain losses is not a good thing, in the grand scheme of things, there are definately losses that command more attention than they get.
