Moving
In the event that anyone has noticed I have been posting less. The reason is that my time is being consumed by an approaching move.
That's right I'm moving away from Alaska. It is a logistical nightmare to move away from this place. Because there aren't connecting highways in this area I have to air freight my belongings (including motor vehicles) to Anchorage. Then repack my belongings and transport them another 3,500 miles.
And I can attribute this move to my wife (she wants to live closer to family members and Wal-Marts).

Where are you moving? You'll always be alaskaguy to us, no matter what state you're in. Forever trying to find a cure for the Dunning-Kruger Effect. -
Re: Moving
Don't feel bad ... I want to move to the country and my wife says no because she won't live anywhere that they won't deliver pizza to.

Re: Moving
That explains a lot! I thought you had been gone for a long time.
Wow, that's an expensive move!
I have been purging things over the last year so that when we move again there will be less.....people keep giving us free furniture...

Just sayin'....

I also miss your odd news articles, even though I see the same ones later in the week often enough. Do you see them from Thisistrue.com as well?

Here is one of those odd stories....
A Japanese plumber was arrested for calling a toll-free number around 500 times so he could hear a taped female voice, police said Monday.
Hiroyuki Nomoto, a 38-year-old Tokyo resident, was arrested on suspicion of obstructing the business of the company, a food firm based in the city of Takasaki north of the capital.
"The company paid the call charges which amounted to 3.8 million yen (36,900 dollars) for the call time of 3,100 hours," the official said.

EDIT: First article for last week:
ANOTHER MASTER OF HIS OWN DOMAIN: Bungee jump master Carl Dionisio, 37,
had a great idea for a specialized bungee jump: he'd make his bungee
ropes out of condoms. It took four months to make the rope. "It was
difficult as the condoms are slippery," said Dionisio, of Durban, South
Africa. "When we tied knots they would just slip out." Still, he said,
"latex is latex" and, after four months and 18,500 rubbers, he was "99
percent sure that it would work." Luckily, it did. (South Africa
Independent) ...The only problem: it could only be used once.
