Someone on the outside looking in blaming God, yet those who were spared their lives thanking God.
It is rarely known right away the reason that things like this happen. Give it time.

Doesn't the reason have to do with a warm, humid air mass colliding with a colder air mass, resulting in circulation in the upper atmosphere that produces a funnel of wind that reaches the ground?

I have three familes of relatives that live in the parkersburg area. One of my families lived next to the school and had just built a brand new two story house. They heard the sirens and got in the basement, and he looked out the egress window and saw that it was very black out, and could see debris swirling in the air and told his family it looks like its going to get bad and so the kids got down and covered themselves with pillows and then his wife layed on top of the kids and he laid on all them. He said ten seconds later it was all gone and the only way he could get out of his basement was those little 1 foot by 2 foot windows. He said everything was just cleared out.

He told me a story of a couple of his friends who saw the storm coming when they were driving and they went to the pizza ranch I believe it was right by Cuvalier car wash. One of the guys was holding onto the wall when the storm came and all of a sudden the tornado started lifting the wall and the guy off the ground, and so people started jumping and grabbing on this guy to keep him from flying away. A couple seconds later the tornado passed and dropped the whole group of people to the ground.

I also have relatives that live just east of 14 and they said they had newspapers stuck in their exterior paneling of their house. Most of their windows were broke and the glass shards were embedded in all the drywall and leather couches so it is all destroyed. They also had a plastic lawn chair leg stuck in the exterior of their house.

There are plenty of other stories I could go on about.

But the one that surprised me, is that we were camping in Oelwein Iowa and the oelwein cop came and notified the campground that a tornado was down on the ground in parkersburg and that it was headed our way. So they made the whole campground evacuate to the golfcourse clubhouse's basement. We were watching the radar on the TV's and it said where we were it was dark purple on the radar which means HEAVY hail but it wasn't raining or hailing at all! So we went outside and looked to our south and we could see the tornado that went through hazelton! It was crazy **** I must say!

It doesn't really sink in about tornados that hit in Kansas or Missouri or wherever until it actually hits a place that you have family and it really sinks in of how dangerous these things really can be!

According to the people in the video, it's exactly the opposite. They survived because God saved them - while the tornado tearing through their town was merely an act of nature.

As an absolute no one on this board, I propose there be no more god-talk. We get it...some of you believe in it, others of us don't. OKay? We're not going to settle this argument without a fist fight and some tequilia so can't we just stop?

PS...why did God destroy his own church with a tornado in IC?

Ummm...No.

If something good happens to me, it might be random luck or it might be because I worked to put myself in that position. If something bad happens to me it might be random luck or it might be because I ****** up. See, I don't blame god nor do I give it credit. When it's my own doing/fault, I accept that. When it's not, call it fate/luck of the draw.

Here is a link to the facebook group praying for Parkersburg. They have almost 300 pictures of the town. Hard to believe what some of the stuff looks like.
