What GENIUS at Wal-Mart thought that would be a good location to build? My father worked at Montgomery Wards when it was in that location, and I can remember that flooding at least 3 times!

The flooding there is insane - that parking lot is huge, and it's just totally under. The Wendy's parking lot is bad, too. It's like where the old movie theaters were - awful location there, too. People have shied away from it.

My cousin just got off work for the Rec---said Lied will be closed today, tomorrow, and maybe a day or two more. They're playing it by ear and sandbagging as much as possible. The two parking lots at Lied and the MWL lot are all closed until further notice as well.

Is the inside of Wal-Mart flooded too?

I thought they had to build it WAY up to be allowed to go in there.

It'll be interesting to see if it is or not. I'm going to be heading down that way in a bit, I'll try to snap a few more pictures.

From the looks of the pictures and WHOtv video, the water stops about 20 feet short of the building. It looks like the building itself is about 5 feet higher than the parking lot.

Are you saying that other Wal-Marts aren't filled dirty brown water?

Re: Flooding in Cyclone Country

Took me twice as long to get home for lunch, Lincoln Way is a nightmare. Water was starting to cover 1 westbound lane near the intersection at University Blvd. Thankfully no water in my basement over near the stadium.

It's Bushbama!

Are talking about the drinking water or the bathrooms of Wal-Marts?

I just heard a report from a co-worker that the police are out on Hwy 30 between Ames and Nevada. I guess the water is threatening the westbound lanes and is still rising. We might be on an island by the end of the day.
