Handing out Christian leaflets is a hate crime

Evangelists have been handing out Christian gospel leaflets in a predominantly Muslim area of Birmingham, England. The evangelists say they were threatened with arrest for committing a "hate crime" and have been told they risked being beaten up if they returned.

Okay this happened in the U.K. and not the United States. But at times it seems like were traveling down the same road, even if we aren't getting there quite as quickly.

Wow. That makes me sick, but that is the world. Maybe people will start appreciating their faith when they realize it is threatened.

I'm thinking that if the tables were reversed, Muslim leaders handing out leaflets in a Christian area, that the police would be protecting them instead of threatening them with arrest for a "hate crime."

Wait till Obama gets elected. One of his big agenda items is MORE hate crimes legislation.

That's because hate crime legislation is crap. If a heterosexual murders a homosexual, is that considered a hate crime? What about a white man murdering another white man? There's equal amount of "hate" in those actions, but they aren't classified the same way.

Yes, but legislation says that all crimes are not equal. Apparently committing a crime against someone of another race, color, creed, preference, etc. is worse than committing a crime against an "equal" for lack of a better term.

Where the hell did you hear that? Never heard a damn thing about that, it certainly isn't a big agenda item if its even true.

Hate crime legislation is stupid. It should be the same punishment for the crime regardless of your reasons for committing it. Killing somebody isn't any worse of a crime if its racially motivated than it is if its for money or whatever, its still the same thing.

I don't mind when somebody hands me a leaflet about their religion. Don't mind the Jehovas and the other door-to-door folk as long as they leave immediately when you tell them your not interested.

I Hate roadside preachers though that stand outside the bar and give you crap, and I hated those fools who gave me and my girlfriend crap when we went to watch the Da Vinci Code. Get a life for christsake!

The worst I have ever seen though were the guys at the football stadium a couple years back who were making a huge scene and telling everyone they were going to hell for drinking and going to a football game.
