Woman's shoes-poll

My wife has completely taken over our walk-in closet with shoes. Yesterday, I decided to add a shoe rack in the closet. I added 16 feet of shelving and it only stored 1/2 her shoes! I counted and she has 40+ pairs even after sending 10+ to good will!

How many pairs of shoes does your wife own?

My wife isnt bad - Maybe 20-25 pr. The 2-3 new pairs of sandles and flip flops every summer is annoying. My mom was rediculous though. Granted, her second hubby did run a chain of shoe stores, but still. I'm guessing she had about 200+ pr when I graduated HS.

You need to add a selection to the poll:

"I don't know because it would scare the **** out of me to know".

What scares me is that I never see them enter the house and I never see the empty boxes but somehow she has 40+ pairs of shoes and at least 20 purses.

I once cleaned out our closet. I found every one of my wife's shoes (about 30 pairs), lined them against the wall, and told her to do something with them because we didn't have any more space in the closet. I think she just stacked them back in the closet while I wasn't paying attention, and I became that mean husband at her workplace.

Yes, but I hardly ever think about her shoes when shes cooking a great dinner or , ahem, well you know. My point is, its all about tradeoffs.

Completely agree with this as a tradeoff in the joys of marriage... I get a lot too, and a lot of the time it's not as tangible as shoes and purses! Golf when i want to with my friends, money towards fantasy sports leagues, etc, etc... plus, well, the above bold...

If my wife didn't have an income I could complain but she ends up paying for a lot of my junk as well.

From what I've heard, that doesn't require marriage. Better yet, opportunities of the sort decrease upon marriage.
