I'd totally be a vegetarian if it wasn't for the fact that a lot of animals are so damn tasty.

Was anybody else around when the rodeo club had a bbq next to a peta protest out by the USDA building? That was great, if I still lived in the area I'd totally grab my tailgating stuff and start grilling out down there.

So what i would like to see is the Westborough come protest this... that could be entertaining, and they'd finally be doing some good

Oh we will fight, fight, fight for Iowa State, and may her colors ever fly!

As for the Birkenstocks, they'll likely still be outfitted in those...

Re: PETA plans naked protest in downtown DM

Once again, I have to quote Denis Leary quite a bit as he's got an answer for all of life's problems:

Denis Leary: I tried eating vegetarian. I felt like a wimp going into a restaurant. "What do you want to eat sir? Broccoli?" Broccoli's a side dish, folks. Always was, always will be, OK! When they ask me what I want, I say: What do you think I want? This is America. I want a bowl of raw red meat right now. Forget that! Bring me a live cow over to the table! I'll carve off what I want and RIDE THE REST HOME! DUM DA DA DUM DA DA DUM!!!

Denis Leary: Not eating meat is a decision. Eating meat is an instinct!

Denis Leary: We should have animal auditions. "What are you?" "I'm an otter." "And what do you do?" 'I swim around in little circles and do cute little things with my hands!" "You're free to go. And what are you?" "I'm a cow..." "Get in the ******* truck, okay pal?" "I'm an animal" "You're A BASEBALL GLOVE!" "I have rights..." "Yeah, I'm wearing your cousin right now..."

We did something similar to this in college. They were protesting the rodeo when I was in Rodeo Club one year, so we bought a bunch of McDonalds sandwhiches and went over and offered it to the protesters..

They didn't seem to generous about our offer though

Demos seek attention - they've accomplished that and they haven't done it yet. There was a similar demo in Lincoln a few years ago - caused me to check out their web site - later I read Jane Goodall's Harvest of Hope and John Robbins' book and lived veggie for about six months. In terms of land use, energy consumption and carbon footprint, veggie is very efficient. Add that to reducing suffering on factory farms and slaughter routes and PETA isn't all wrong.

Why not us?

Yes but you emit a much greater amount of gases when you eat broccoli and such which depletes the ozone much quicker, and hence increases global warming which kills off the animals. So really you're doing more harm.

I don't want to be a pessimist, but the rank-and-file members of PETA that will be at the naked protest probably are going to more likely to invoke a gag reflex than one of, shall we say, stimulation. You can only hope that they bring in a couple of ringers to help the coverage.

So, what was her name? For me it was Jodi, and she was smokin hot.

Haha, I remember meeting some girl back in college, made plans to go out to eat and she told me she was a veggie... I had no idea where to even take her! That didn't last long...
