They are predicting HUGE storms this afternoon and tonight. Hope everybody stays safe.

Storm chasing crews from around the country are rolling into Iowa, with many teams already in western Iowa awaiting the storm development.

Not a good thing...

I was thinking about going out and joining them. I figured I would be safer there than in my house lol.

When asked about the ISU @ Iowa game: Iowa wide receiver Derrell Johnson-Koulianos said. "This has to be the most important game of the year. We've got to treat it like we're playing for a Big Ten championship."

I really hope this is much ado about nothing. Maybe this will be one of the (many) times that the weather people are at least partially wrong.

I know SW Iowa got a lot of rain last night but I didn't see it was THIS much until today. In Corning, they got 7 inches of rain last night alone.

MrsWx is already planning on going into the station... Hopefully I'll get the yard mowed before things fire up.

Yikes, I hope everyone up there is safe. That's a lot of bad weather in a short amount of time. Seems like it will never end.

We have the opposite problem down here. Haven't seen a drop of rain in a almost a month, and it's blazing hot.

I'd imagine storm chasers are experiencing one giant har...excuse me, I'd imagine storm chasers are feeling a lot like kids at Christmas right about now.

Definitely not a night for amateurs to be out roaming around the countryside.

Holy crap!

I love a good storm, but this is getting ridiculous.

But tonight is my weekly go out into the cornfields with a flashlight and count corn stalks night...

Save us tonight, the last hope for all of us,
Light-years gone by, we're still holding on,
Save us tonight, a star shines in all of us,
Far beyond our lives, still our glory lives on.

Omaha area is suppose to have more action tonight than they did yesterday. Conditions are ripe for an explosion of storms along the front and south of the jetstream. Two supercells formed in Nebraska yesterday. The Murray NE to Creston IA one lasted for four hours spawning tonados.
