All it really means is that we are going to have a very awkward commercial with Chad and the Verizon Can You Hear Me Now guy getting a bit too friendly......

Does verizon offer service in your area? If so and they don't have those issues then I imagine it could get better. Or it could be all just related to your phone too and not Altells issue.
I know when AT&T bought Cingular, their service did not get any better in the cedar rapids area at all. They still have to worst dropped calls problem in this area.

Verizon's coverage is one of the best I've ever had... maybe the best, in terms of connection. AT&T/Cingular is the only one that is on the same level, pretty much... So you should be happy you're getting their coverage on that... Hopefully the customer service gets better with Alltel coming aboard, but I doubt it. Verizon CS is TERRIBLE in my opinion. Luckily, haven't had to use them too often, but when you do, it's a pain. I'm wondering about the plans they'll incorporate from this buyout...

I actually have had good experience with Verizon's CS. I recently got a new phone. Bought it all online. One of their CS people actually CALLED ME to activate my new phone. I was actually impressed. It was the same gal who helped me purchase the phone. Was nice to have some who knew what they were doing, and I could understand.
