No rain or anything here yet, but it has been very windy.

When asked about the ISU @ Iowa game: Iowa wide receiver Derrell Johnson-Koulianos said. "This has to be the most important game of the year. We've got to treat it like we're playing for a Big Ten championship."

USGS Real-Time Water Data for USGS 05470000 South Skunk River near Ames, IA

Good website for those of you who like to track water levels for fishing in the Skunk River.

It will be interesting to see how the river fairs.

Re: Official Storm Thread for Thursday 6/5/08

I'm cleaning up the basement from the water that came in last night. I live in the Beaverdale area and it just poured for about an hour. Emptied the rain gauge this morning and I had 4.2 inches of rain last night, mostly all from that storm that passed through around 11pm till about 1am. I had emptied it out yesterday before the storms came in so I know that is all from last night!

I just cleaned out my gutters 2 nights ago and it was raining so hard for awhile last night that even the gutters could not keep up and these are the wider gutters not your standard size ones. So guess I ought to get back to the shop vac and get all the water I can out of the carpet this morning...

I'm in WDM and I lost power from about 10:45 to 1:30 last night.

Also, the storm sirens went off here 3 seperate times last night.

Hopefully everyone is ok.

I had a huge tree branch fall on my house @ 1:30 am in Cedar Falls and then we were under a Tornado Warning until 2am. Pretty freaky after what just happened in Parkersburg!!

Well, at least your I-State yard sign didn't get hit!...

Just kidding, in all seriousness, I hope your house is alright!

Yeah, I was happy to see the I-State sign still up :-)

House is fine... :-) After it hit the house and snapped in 1/2, it missed every single window! Lucky...

We live near UNI campus.
