That has got to be the longest nearly continuous strip of "red" I've ever seen on a weather map. Hopefully none of them get too bad.
Corning had 7 inches of rain last night and they just were hit again.
Too bad there wasn't a Bookie on this...I had the 10:00-10:15 slot.
From the NWS:
AT 1011 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A TORNADO NEAR WAUKEE...OR
15 MILES WEST OF DES MOINES...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 46 MPH.
* THE TORNADO WILL BE NEAR...
CLIVE BY 1015 PM CDT...
Sirens going off in west des moines.
talked to Mrswx on the phone. No tornado signature on the radar just the potential at this point. Most dangerous part of the storm is moving north towards granger. For now she told me I don't need to pack the family and head to the basement...
This sucks. Sirens are going off in urbandale. Tornado in dallas county
I just went out and looked to the southwest - quite the light show moving in. The wind is also picking up quite a bit.
Sirens in Beaverdale now
In Grimes, they had us on a "tornado path".
So far, just plenty of rain, lightning, thunder and wind. And the wind isn't even that bad.
