Bicycle Basket

So I am planning on buying a bike basket for my rear rack to avoid wearing a backpack when I bike to work. Anyone have suggestions, preferably not wicker? I am looking for something similar to the Axiom urban rear grocery basket or the Topeak MTX rear basket but not sure as I can't find many reviews for baskets.

For what its worth I decided to go with a bigger bike bag that can hold a ton things. I think its more expensive but doesn't look too bad.

Similar to this but a bit bigger...

Re: Bicycle Basket

Depends on what kind of bike you have and what you use it for.
I have a road bike and I put on the trunk rack that attaches to the rear stem and rear wheel hub, similar to this, but attaches at different points:
Bike Nashbar.com - Delta Top Trunk Bag

I use a large bag with the fold down pockets and large center compartment when I bike into work (Ankeny to downtown DSM) The brand is Sun something - the cheap brand at Scheels and it's worked great for over a year now. Has plenty of room for my cloths and lunch.

I felt bad for bolting the rack to my bike and riding with it full: I have a used, full carbon bike that someone spent a lot of money making very light...oh well.

If you don't already: keep a pair of work shoes and toilitries at your desk to lessen the crap you have to transport from home to work.

You could do the saddle bags-like setup on the rear rack.

That's the term I was trying to think of for the bag I use...brain farting today.
