Lately it seems that about every other DVD I get from Netflix looks like it has been sandblasted. What are they doing to these things? It could be a new release and still look like someone took a belt sander to it. And of course they play like it too. So then you have to send it back, report it damaged and wait for a new DVD to arrive. Has anyone else had this problem?
Does anyone use the Blockbuster movie thing? If so, is it better?

I've never had this problem and we've had NetFlix for 8 months now. I have more problems with dvd's I rent from Family Video, not to mention FV having a huge store but no selection. Thank God for NetFlix.

I have never even seen a fingerprint on netflix dvds from the DSM depot. I think a lot of the blu-ray ones I have been getting are brand new.

We have rented a ton of movies and so far have only had two or three unplayable due to scratches. We also have had one or two snapped in two upon delivery.
We recently bought a bluray and they are supposed to be more scratch resistant and so far that has been true.
Very happy with Netflix!!

I've never had a problem with Netflix. I've had it for about 2 years now and never had a DVD that didn't work. Also, the new Blu Ray's rock.
Went to a video store once to pick up some Blu Rays and there selection was terrible. Netflix has a great selection of Blu Ray's.

I've had Netflix for about three years and have only had two or three that skipped, and I got those to work by cleaning them with glass cleaner and a paper towel. We get them from the Des Moines location.

I have had it for a couple of years now too and I haven't had any that were completely unplayable. I have had a few that stopped playing in the middle of the movie but just had to clean it a little bit and it was good to go.

I cancelled my subscription to NetFlix after I received 3 or 4 movies that were unplayabe in about a month. I have not missed my subscription. I may be interested in renewing my subscription to download movies.
I got a Tivo recently and love it. I would rather have my Tivo than NetFlix even though I don't have any premium channels.

I have had a few that got stuck, but in general they have been good. I think it is more with newer releases that are getting used a lot.

I have recently received two that were cracked all the way from the outer edge to the central hole! I reported them on the Netflix website and they sent me a replacement immediately.

This is extremely surprising. I've been using Netflix for a couple of years, and I've only ever had one "bad" disc, and it was remedied by going back to the point in the movie where it skipped, fast forwarding a few seconds, and letting the rest of the film play out.
Maybe you all just have bad luck. Or I have extremely good luck. ;)
