Yep...already had our tornado warning for the day here in Kossuth County. Supposedly tornadoes but I have nothing to confirm it with.

Can we have an early evening storm tonight for a change so I don't have to worry about tornados when I should be sleeping?

The area that I live in has been experiencing snow showers through-out the day. Even thought it is the Arctic this is unusual.

We got called out to spot, but nothing developed in the county. I did hear that there might have been something on the other side of Forest City.

I spent Wednesday and Thursday night up late making sure nothing hit us. In a lack-of-sleep induced haze Friday, I called HyVee and reserved a weather radio. Got it set up today. I still will probably stay up tonight.

Obviously every time it snows, even at unusual times, it means there is no global warming.......Wait, so doesn't that also mean every time it gets really warm, there IS global warming!?!? ................/end sarcasm
My only advice is to learn that climate doesn't describe individual daily weather events....it describes long-term (usually on the order of years to decades to centuries) weather.
Do a couple bad days out of a year disprove that you had a good year?
Oh, and to wrap this up, I know of no climatologist that would ever try to blame individual weather events on global warming. It's just silly. They may try to prove that global warming, ON AVERAGE, OVER A PERIOD OF TIME, has caused the weather to behave a certain way.

Our rain gauge has about an an inch and three quarters from last night and this morning - still climbing.

Re: Official Storm Thread for Saturday 6-7
I think it is going to climb all day. Tink said we are getting rain for at least the morning and early afternoon.

Re: Official Storm Thread for Saturday 6-7
Had an exciting night in Omaha last night. Sirens went off around 2:30 AM. Headed to the basement, and it turns out there was a suspected tornado about 2-3 miles south of me. Lots of downed trees, some missing roofs, etc. Auto parts store got hit pretty hard, carports ripped up, and the Super Wal-Mart at 132nd & L now has a hole in the roof. Rumor has it that an A/C unit on the roof shifted and fell through the roof.
