More rain on its way

There is a very impresive lightning display going on out west. Looking at the radar there seems to be shower going through central Iowa. This on a day when we were told there would be no rain until Weds.

And lightening flashes... across the sky?

Yeah, storms popping up to the north of us, and to the west. I guess these are the "unpredicted" rain storms they were hoping we wouldn't see?

It rained on us a few hours ago while out sand bagging, I heard alot of cussing when that happened lol

Counties to the west of DSM were under Thunderstorm warnings until 10 - have not seen any new ones pop up yet.

can anyone offer any resources on where I can find maps of area's that were effected by previous floods?

For instance I would love to see a map of the floods of 93 or some some photos taken from planes or something, so I can better gauge how bad this will effect me.

The cities and counties have given nothing. I know it is not a exact science and no one can know how bad it will get when we are breaking a record, but I would really love to see some information so I can make my own conclusions.

A runaway Barge just hit the Hwy 20 bridge in Dubuque which connects Illinois and Iowa.

A bridge in Boone was destroyed today too. Wow, this is unbelievable.

They said on the news a little bit ago that the bridge is closed and they are re routing traffic through a crossing to wisconsin. They are inspecting the bridge for damage now.

Well if that is the case I am both happy and ******.

First I am happy we haven't built our wall yet because we would have to add to it.
