Right now, the flood waters are mere feet from pouring over the edge of the river and into the streets. It probably won't get that way without any rain, and in the likely event that it does rain before the week is out, it could get ugly.
If they get that amount of rainfall over the next two days as forecasted, the '93 floods are going to seem like a picnic compared to what will be going on in downtown Des Moines. And that's not considering any rain that might occur beyond that.
Was planning on having my bachelor party in downtown DSM this Saturday. Might be helping some of you guys sandbag now....
