Solar lights

Which brand is the best? I need about 6. Some of my neighbors have ones that suck while others put out a good bit of light. These lights will go on the north side of our house so they won't see much light at the end of the day.

Re: Solar lights

Can't really say 1 brand is better than the other but most home improvement stores have them on display that you can get a decent look at what they are. Don't expect a ton of light to come from them, they are mostly for accent and decorative purposes. If you want them to put off a fair ammount of light you'd be better off installing electrical ones.

Re: Solar lights

I bought a set of 10 at Home Depot for about $80. I found that the only way to get a decent amount of light is to have a great number of lights. The are on the east side of my house and they do a nice job of staying bright all night long. I put mine in flower pots filled with sand so I can move them while trimming the lawn.

Re: Solar lights

I bought a set of three spotlights, and was very disappointed by how bright they are. I had hoped to highlight a 3-foot shrub with them. They put off enough light to keep me from running into it in at night, but it's not exactly majestic.
