Tablet PC's
I asked this in another thread, but never got an answer so I'm afraid my question got lost. Does anyone have experience using a tablet PC? I've never used one, but they sound like a great way to take notes. Would it be a good idea to buy one for taking notes, or is there something else I should consider?

Re: Tablet PC's
They are pretty decent, but costly for what you get hardware wise. I would find a place that lets you test them to see if its worth it to you.

I think they are cool. The school I teach for gave one to each student in MS and HS. The MS and HS teachers each got one to use. Students take all their notes on them and can even recieve notes from the teacher.

They're pretty cool. I've got one sitting next to me right now. (Not mine) My company keeps them in stock for demonstration purposes. Our clientele consists of a lot of doctors, and tablets are really cool in that regard. Doctors use them to write treatment notes directly into the PC rather than having to transcribe from paper notes. They carry them just like they would a clipboard. Quite popular.

Re: Tablet PC's
I have an HP tx2000 and I love it. This is my second Tablet and I find it very nice to have. The HP is a great laptop and honestly, it is in laptop mode most often. However, when I am reading documents, grading papers (I teach at OU), or just jotting down research ideas, the tablet mode is perfect. Gottabemobile.com and jkontherun.com are a couple of blogs that I found helpful when buying my first tablet.

I support 400 Lenovo X61 Tablets and it gets to be a nightmare with all the wireless problems with a critical application in Healthcare. But Tablets rock for Schools and personal use.
Here is what you need to make sure to have to make life easier.
Microsoft One Note - Take notes, record, erase etc....
Finger Printer reader to log in and out of websites/logon
Try and get a 8-9 cell battery. It will last longer.
Might want to get a tether string for the digitzer pen so you won't lose it. They are expensive and easy to lose..
Ajust your power settings so when its not plugged in to AC it will last longer.
Make sure you don't call the charge. But make sure you call the foul on the scrum.... -

Best new feature of Office 2007. It has completely changed the way I work.
