Court overturns father's grounding of 12-year-old

Okay... This is it... The world must be coming to an end:
Court overturns father's grounding of 12-year-old - Unusual Tales - Specials
The girl had taken her father to Quebec Superior Court after he refused to allow her to go on a school trip for chatting on websites he tried to block, and then posting "inappropriate" pictures of herself online using a friend's computer.
The father's lawyer Kim Beaudoin said the disciplinary measures were for the girl's "own protection" and is appealing the ruling.

Who's going to pay her court fees? Oh, that's right, probably daddy.

Hopefully he doesn't make her pay him back... She might sue him.

Ummm... Why can't we just tell kids to "sit down, shut the **** up and behave like you're supposed to." ? So their feelings don't get hurt?

Edit: How the hell can a 12 year old afford a lawyer/attorney?

Save us tonight, the last hope for all of us,
Light-years gone by, we're still holding on,
Save us tonight, a star shines in all of us,
Far beyond our lives, still our glory lives on.

This reminds me of a south park episode where everyone sued everyone for the dumbest things.

Except this happened in real life

Seriously, this is ****ing pathetic. The judge really should have tossed this... it isn't like he abused her or anything. "OH No, a father is telling his child "no", thats child abuse, I must step in and do something!"

This girl is going to grow up, become a judge and sue a local dry cleaner for $65 million for losing her suit...

Oh we will fight, fight, fight for Iowa State, and may her colors ever fly!

I'm still waiting for the day when one of my students comes to class 20 mins. late and then they sue me because I counted them tardy - I'm sure it will happen before I retire. :(

This, unfortunately, is what Canada has come to.

My guess is this would be Hillary Clinton's wet dream for America, I mean after all, it takes a village to raise a child, and the village finally got to overrule those evil things called "parents..."

If you couldn't tell, I'm not bitter about this one bit.

And yet we as Americans are so desperate to do the same thing here...

I wonder if I can get the court to go back and look at the '97 grounding my father gave me for egging my gym teachers house. I think any judge will be able to clearly see that the guy was a complete douche and had it coming.

"Beaudoin noted the girl used a court-appointed lawyer in her parents' 10-year custody dispute to launch her landmark case against her dad." - This explains it. The girl obviously has some issues. The judge needs to be disbarred.

I think this explains a lot. No custody dispute should last 10 years. That is bound to screw up the child and any family relationships. It makes me wonder just what in the world has been going on other than this particular action.
