21) Pantera - wtf they should be more like top 5

8) Does the author know the meaning of Heavy Metal?????

5) Jimi Hendrix - great music, but not metal.

Terrible list.

Re: The 25 Best Heavy Metal Bands

There were a few bands I wouldn't list as heavy metal in that article.

Sorry, GnR does not belong behind Spinal Tap. I mean, I know their amp goes to 11, but come one!

Patrick who?

I'm not even sure anyone in the top 5 should be considered "Metal" beside Black Sabbath, and I consider that to be borderline. Slayer doesn't even crack the top 10? Lamesauce.

This was a list of the crappiest bands of all time correct? Cause they did a great job on that.

"Rime of the Ancient Mariner" is ponderous. That's a good joke.

So would some of these acts be considered Hard Rock instead?

"Killed By Death" is one of my favorite Motorhead songs.

I'd go with just "Rock" for Led Zepp, Aerosmith, KISS, Jimi, and some of the others.

GWAR might of not made this list, but they would put any band to shame in a live performance

Re: The 25 Best Heavy Metal Bands

Killed by death an absolute best.

I can't believe no megadeth in the top 25. When you look at the list I think you need to put those bands in perspective to when they were at there peak. Bands like Zeppelin and Hendrix in the day were considered Heavy Metal.

A band I can't figure out is how did Aerosmith even get on this list. I know I am thinking of there most recent stuff but to consider them Heavy Metal. I put them more with rock bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd.
