Best Football memories

In the spirt of reminecing about all the good times we have had . I thought it would be good way to start a friday and tell our best football memories that we have had.

I'll start with one that I'm sure that many of us would consider one of the best. Most of us that are die hard fans all we have to say is "The Run" and you would know exactly what I'm talking about. When Senaca are nearly 100 yards to score a TD from our 20 yard line. Every now and then I find it one you tube and just watch it over and over. Some people talk that Jarome Tiller has alot simlar styles as Senaca does you could only imagine how great that would to have that again!!!!

Although "The Run" is an absolute great memory. My favorite memory (only been going to ISU games since '97) is going to Arrowhead and watching us beat (thats right I said beat, cause Seneca was IN the endzone) FSU. Tailgating was a blast, the game was phenomenal, and post game tailgating was a blast too. Not to mention all the hotties from FSU that showed up .

Either that game, or anytime Troy ran up the middle of a cluster**ck and somehow found a way out of it and broke down the sidelines. Those are things I always think about as I'm walking to my seat at JTS.

23-3.... or 15-13.

Chizik: "One thing that I’d encourage our fans…I want them to be the loudest stadium in the Big 12. I don’t care…I want Jack Trice stadium to be the loudest in the Big 12 and I think that creates homefield advantage.... I want to stress to everyone…I want this place to be juiced up. They bought 36,000 season tickets so there is a passion there…don’t hide it…let it out. I want there to be a passion in the stadium."

Biggest games a ref changed the outcome of

1 iowa state vs Michigan state elite eight. Boy did we get robbed of a final four and what coildve easily been a championship
2 Iowa state vs Florida state. Oh my word, when the ball crosses the pylon on the endzone side its a f**king touchdown

So refs took a very possible championship and a top 10 win in football that wouldve helped out a lot to make our season that year even better

Thank you for beating Iowa

Another vote for Marvelous Marv Seiler.

That was the last game I attended as a student. I still have the little flag from the top of the goal posts.

As bad as the Walden era was at times, that win and beating OU in Norman were great.

The Insight.com bowl was a heck of a good time as well.

Re: Best Football memories

Two great memories, one specific one general.

Watching Luther Blue (at Clyde Williams Field) return the second half kickoff for a TD.

When I went to school at ISU, alcohol was allowed in the stadium (in wineskins) and student seating was general admission. I lived on the north edge of campus, and as we walked across campus to the stadium the drum corps got louder and louder - like raising anticipation. But we didn't get to tailgate as is now the tradition. We lined up at the gate wiaiting for it to open and then it was a scramble up the hill to get the best seats available. I was always in the front row, east side, on the south endzone. By the time the game started we were keyed.

ISU fans are the greatest in the world. All they ask for is hope and the belief that we have a chance to win every time we step on the field - Johnny Majors (paraphrased)

Ya gotta have the horses, man - Johnny Orr.

Mine is watching the comeback in Iowa City a few years ago. I don't think I ever felt better walking out of stadium then I did that day.

The CU game in '05.

Big Play creating his own "The Run" for Cyclone lore. That game was incredible

Or the NU game in '02

Nothing like chanting 'New Big Red' to get a bunch of moronic hicks all pissed off

"I just back into town and I hear all this stuff, and Buster Olney is making my team up now and [Genske] wants to tell me who is going to pitch here. No one is going to tell us who to put on our team and no one on ESPN is going to tell us who should pitch for my team. " -Gardy
