Re: White Sox Announcers

I wonder if the WGN feed was produced by the regular Cubs producers. There were a lot of shots of happy cub fans. No shots of dejected White Sox fans.

Re: White Sox Announcers

Ron Santo is the biggest Cub homer around, but I love the guy. He wears his emotions on his shirt sleeve and you know exactly how the game is going the moment you tune in(kind of like Pete Taylor used to be for ISU). I just love it when they Cubs come from behind and Ron is yelling "yes!".

On a side note Bob Brenly is a great t.v. announcer for the Cubs. I love the way he breaks down everything and the guy knows his stuff.

I never listen to the Sox so don't really care what their announcers are like.

Jim Zabel?

EIU is the other Okoboji University for serious students and home of Captain Kirk who pilots the Enterprise on its Trek through the Universe for finding his next great job. Captain, beware of your Superbowl.

Those are CATCH PHRASES. Just like when Harry Caray used to say "Holy Cow" or Mel Allen would say "How 'bout that?" It's the phrases that they all use. There's no changing them. They're annoying because they aren't your team's announcers.

I do laugh to see Cubs fans talk on here when the have Ron Santo, the John Madden of baseball. "Here's a team that when they score more runs, they win games!" Serious, the man is painful. They'd probably give the man a telestrator if he actually had two working appendages. And you wanna do a "Homer-off" between Hawk and Santo, it's Santo every time. That dude will straight up throw a tantrum if the Cubs are down. I'm talking punch the guy next to him for giving him an awkward eye type of tantrum.

Now, with that said, given the choice, I enjoy the Sox radio guys better. I have always been a big fan of Steve Stone.
