There's a newspaper story with a little more info and a picture. That is amazingly huge. For perspective, I have twin boys, and they were less than half that size when they were born. It's also amazing that there was another set of twins that weighed four pound more than this set, but I'm guessing that weighing babies wasn't as accurate 80 years ago as it is today.

I'm honestly really surprised they weren't C-sectioned long before this. 23 combined pounds? Good Lord - I hope my wife doesn't go through something like this...

My second boy was 10 lbs, 10 oz.
My wife had an easier time delivering him than my first, who was 7 lbs., 7 oz.

Wow, our twins together did not weigh as much as either of these two.

Good Lord - I hope my wife doesn't go through something like this... They don't force labor just because the babies are big. As long as the babies and the mother are doing fine (fine being a relative term for this poor woman), the best thing for the babies is to keep them in the womb. The newspaper story says they were C-sectioned at 38.5 weeks, and that might've been the earliest the hospital would let them do an elective C-section.

She must have been HUGE. She could only go through doorways straight on.
