How many of those 7 words are still taboo from being said on network TV?

Network TV - all of them.

Cable TV - it's all fair game.

Personally, I liked the airline sketch better (and it's something I usually listen to before I jump on (or should I say, into) a plane, but yeah, the "7 Words You Can't Say on Television" is classic.

Saw him live in the early 90's and was funny as advertised. He definatly made you think about things once you saw one of his shows.

Re: george carlin dead at age 71.

He will always be known for the seven dirty words, but I think of him as the smartest comedian I have ever heard. He really thought about language and what words meant and didn't mean.

They say that deaths always happen in groups of three. Tim Russert and George Carlin are two big deaths......

They will be both be missed for making the world a smarter place.

I was just reading a column about him. This classic Carlin cracked me up:

"Why do they lock gas station bathrooms?" he once mused. "Are they afraid someone will clean them?"

Carlin was/is hilarious. I will say, it's really not a shock that a heart failure killed him.

Very few comics are on the front page news when they die - if ever.

Re: george carlin dead at age 71.

What a bombshell. When I think of great comedians, Pryor and Carlin are the first two that always came to mind... And now both of them are gone. What is one to do? He will be sorely missed. :(
