Mind-Bending Books

I am currently reading "Raw Shark Texts", which so far is amazing! It is compared to a literary "Memento" because the main character has amnesia and is trying to piece his life together again, but in truth, it is so much more than that. Highly recommended. It's been commissioned to be made into a movie, I believe.

I love this type of book, and have looked through Mark Danielewski's "House of Leaves", and it looks similarly mind-bending. Anyone read this one??

That's the one where the text is crazy all over the pages, right?

Yeah, "Raw Shark Texts" almost defies a clear explanation, but creative use of text snippets is one facet of it's unbelievable originality.

I believe I have read House of Leaves sometime back. I remember it being quite good. Ill have to check out Raw.

Charlie Mackenzie: No, I think it's repellent in every way. In fact, I think most Scottish cuisine is based on a dare.

Been in an American History phase over the last couple of months. Reading 1776 by David McCullough right now. Amazing...

Interestingly enough, I just found this link yesterday on these types of books. I've read my fair share of them.

Save us tonight, a star shines in all of us,

Currently attempting to finish the latest book (A Feast for Crows) in the Song of Ice and Fire series from George R. R. Martin. Long books, with hundreds of characters to keep track off. It is going to be an HBO series soon.
