Iowa flood photos

I've been out of the country traveling so I missed out on much of the media reporting of the Iowa flooding.

Nevertheless, I found the attached photos mind boogling:

KCCI-channel 8 in DM showed that photo, I think. I remember the photographer's name. Maybe KCCI got it before AP paid her for it.

FYI - That picture is not one of a tornado as the caption suggests. (They call it a "tornado funnel"). It is not a funnel cloud nor a tornado. Rather, it is part of the mesocyclone of the supercell thunderstorm. The date, location, and photographer seem correct. There was no tornado reported to have touched down with this storm, just some fairly large hail. It is a really awesome picture though.

I don’t care…I want Jack Trice stadium to be the loudest in the Big 12 and I think that creates homefield advantage.... I want to stress to everyone…I want this place to be juiced up. They bought 36,000 season tickets so there is a passion there…don’t hide it…let it out. I want there to be a passion in the stadium."

When I saw that picture originally, I had two thoughts:

1 - cool picture

2 - the person who took it should have sought shelter.

The next pic in the series show "Bender" deciding to swim rather than be carried. Priceless....
