    Computer Help

i just bought a new labtop this weekend that runs on windows vista. ive never used this OS until yesterday so i have no clue on how to do anything yet. but this morning i ran into a problem due to letting some drunk people use my computer. now i cant log into websites because the user name and passwords are saved on my computer. is there a way to get this turned off?
There are not many crowds or places in the country that have a better impact on the game than at Iowa State. The Cyclone fans are truly a sixth man. The place is so loud and always a fantastic crowd." - Former Kansas and current North Carolina head coach Roy Williams

    What browser are you using?

Can you just "log out" of the websites in question?

Othwerise, you can use the "tools..internet options" menu in internet explorer (assuming that's what you're using). Under the general tab, you can delete browsing history, including usernames passwords, and any cookies.

labtop? sorry, this little error really irks me because it is a laptop. One of our help desk guys uses the spelling labtop in his ticket details all the time and you'd think for a person making a living in IT he'd know what it's called.

I prefer to call them notebooks, but that hearkens back to the day when there was a difference between laptops and notebooks (one being far larger than the other).

Unless you're referring to a 'notebook' as a bound sheaf of paper, there still is a significant difference, though the terms have been rearranged. The industry as a whole moved away from calling mobile computers 'laptops' once studies started proving that prolonged heat from a computer sitting on one's lap could do medical damage to you. The most concerning outcome is temporary (and eventually permanent) infertility in males. Ever since then, they have been 'notebooks'. There are different classes, though. 'Subnotebooks' and 'netbooks' are respectively smaller computers.

I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

    Re: Computer Help

from a technical question to arguing about what to call the computer. That is comical.

    Re: Computer Help

Just go to Internet Options. You can work this out from there.

I've got Vista on 2 computers. I'm convinced that it's just a dressed-up XP for most users. The tiling windows probably doesn't get used much.

If you used Windows before, I think you can adapt pretty quickly.
