Its that time of the year again and the Japanese beetles are feeding on my cherry trees. What is the best way to get rid of these pests?
Last night I sprayed Ortho Bug-b-Gone Max on my trees to kill the ones that were on the trees and to hopefully repel others for a little while. Last weekend I spread grub killer/preventer on my yard to help cut down on the number of beetles that appear next year.
I was told by somebody at work to mix about 3 teaspoons of liquid soap with a gallon of water and spray that on my trees. Supposedly it makes the beetles think the tree is stressed and they will leave it alone.
I just sprayed the mixture on my trees. I'll see if it helped after work.

Do the teaspoons need to be sterling silver or will silver plate do?
Seriously, 3 teaspoons of what?
